Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a small country located in Central America, bordering Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south. It is known for its rich biodiversity, with over 28% of its territory protected as national parks and wildlife refuges. Costa Rica’s climate varies from tropical to subtropical, with two main seasons: dry season (December to April) and rainy season (May to November).
Costa Rican culture is a mix of Spanish colonial heritage and indigenous influences. The official language is Spanish, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas. The country has a strong emphasis on education, healthcare, and environmental conservation.
Costa Rica’s economy is primarily driven by tourism, agriculture, and services. The country is known for its eco-tourism, with many visitors attracted to its natural beauty and wildlife. Coffee and bananas are among the main export crops.
Public toilets in Costa Rica are generally clean and well-maintained, especially in tourist areas. Many beaches, parks, and public transportation hubs have designated toilet facilities. However, it’s not uncommon for public toilets to charge a small fee (around 500-1000 CRC or \(1-\)2 USD). Private establishments, such as restaurants, cafes, and shops, usually provide free toilet access to customers.
Costa Rica is generally considered a safe country for tourists, with low crime rates compared to other countries in Central America. However, petty theft and pickpocketing can occur in crowded areas. Visitors should exercise normal precautions to protect themselves and their belongings.
